The internet is flooded with people teaching meditation. So many different kinds of meditation. It’s become quite trendy to meditate.
But do you know the true purpose of meditation?
Yes, it calms the mind, relieves anxiety, makes you more present and able to face the challenges of daily life.
These things will come for anyone who meditates consistently, but the great Yogis who taught us meditation wanted us to understand that meditation is a tool for liberation.
The true purpose of meditation is FREEDOM.
The Buddhists call it Nirvana, in Yoga it’s called Samadhi. Ultimately it is the freedom from worldly attachments which brings lasting inner peace and true happiness. It’s what we all long for, some more consciously than others.
So next time you meditate, or when you try it for the first time, remember WHY you are meditating, according to the wise ones who gave us Yoga.
Here is a meditation that you can try in the spirit of longing for liberation! You may like to take a few moments before you start to set an intention, asking for freedom.
May all beings be free!
Love and blessings,
